QuarteTomás is an emerging guitar quartet that stands out on the international music scene. Four guitarists, outstanding disciples of legendary maestro José Tomás, united by demanding work and meticulous collaboration, bring their musical proposal to the stages of numerous festivals and countries from 2019.
In September 2023, they offered a concert at the invitation of the Spanish Embassy in Nouakchott (Mauritania) to celebrate the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the UE. In July 2024, together with the Argentine composer José Luis Merlín, they premiere their work Viaje al Cerro Sololosta, for guitar quartet and solo guitar, a work dedicated to QuarteTomás. In November 2024 of the same year they performed at the Cadillac Concert Hall in Shanghai, with great success among critics and audiences.
They have performed at many prominent international festivals such as the 27th José Tomás Villa of Petrer International Guitar Festival, Shanghai International Guitar Art Festival, XVI Festival Chitarre dal Mondo at Lugano, (Switzerland), XVII Festival Guitares in Picardie (France), Festival International de Guitare of Lambesc (France), 7th Faro International Guitar Festival (Portugal), VIII Lagoa International Guitar Festival (Portugal), Mediterranean Guitar Festival (Catalonia), XXIII City of Albacete International Guitar Festival, XVIII Ciutat International Guitar Festival of Xixona, concert series by Friends of the Guitar of Valencia, IV MDM Fest of Montanejos, 22nd Ciutat d’Elx International Guitar Festival, XII International Guitar Conference of Elda, II Estanislao Marco de la Vall d’ International Guitar Festival Uixó, among others.
QuarteTomás officially debuted in 2019 in Madrid. The same year they participated in the tribute concert to Jorge Cardoso (Argentina), which was held at the Teatro Cervantes of Petrer.

Pepe Payá studied with professor José Tomás. He has been a jury member at highly prestigious guitar competitions along with L. Brouwer, N. Koshkin, R. Aussel, C. Trepat (among others) in Italy, Slovakia, Hungary, Sweden, Portugal and Spain. In 2011 he participated in the XVII International Guitar Festival of the World (Argentina). He performs as a duet with F. A. Ricote with the Orchestra of the Region of Murcia or the Jove Orquestra de Ponent. With Iberian Folk Ensemble, he has performed in Sudan, Italy and at festivals in Finland and Estonia. He is founder and director of the José Tomás Villa of Petrer International Guitar Festival.
Marco Smaili has won the Manuel de Falla International Prize for guitar composition (Seville 2018), and the Andrés Segovia International Prize for guitar composition (Granada 1999). He studied with José Tomás with the highest grades and he graduated in Humanities Studies with Extraordinary Prize from the UCLM (2003). His works are part of the repertoire of guitarists like David Russell, Roberto Aussel, Álex Garrobé and Margarita Escarpa, and are published in Canada, France, Italy and Spain. The recent album Another Light has received great praise from critics.
Miguel García Ferrer has studied at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid, He has also a degree in Pedagogy from the Complutense University of Madrid and also the IEM Methodology teacher certificate. He has published five books dedicated to the pedagogy and didactics of guitar teaching (Enclave Creativa publisher) and has made eight recordings on different record labels. He has been a member of the Ros-García Duo, the Antares Quartet, the Guitarromanía Orchestra and other musical groups, with which he has been awarded in national and international competitions. He currently works at the Elche Conservatory of Music (Spain), where he has directed the Orquesta Com Una Guitarra for 18 years.
Francisco Albert Ricote is an international concert artist, composer and teacher. He has played in many countries sharing stage with musicians such as Fernando Espí, Carles Trepat and Mitto Tanaka, with whom he toured in Japan in 2001. He is the author of the Elemental Guitar Methodology, and also the Suite Andaluza (Piles publisher). He won the first Prize in the Daniel Fortea International Guitar Competition. As a researcher he has rescued and recorded the guitar works by Quintín Esquembre and has premiered his Rapsodia Andaluza for two guitars and orchestra with Carles Trepat and Leo Brouwer (conductor).
